Cluster

The aim of the proposed IBC3- Innovative Business Cluster of Cloud Computing Technologies is to support the participating ICT SMEs to tackle key technical and non-technical challenges in the development and promotion of innovative high added-value services based on Cloud Computing thus increasing their international competitiveness.

IBC3 brings together a variety of long collaborating entities which cooperate under the coordination of the Technopolis Thessaloniki (the first private Business Park in Greece, hosting knowledge-intensive companies) and comprise 23 highly dynamic ICT companies, 4 leading Academic and Research Organizations, the Association of ICT Businesses of Northern Greece, two innovation consultancy companies and an IPR expert office.

The Cluster will deploy a number of interconnected activities such as knowledge transfer towards the Cluster ICT companies; experimental development and demonstration of Cloud Computing applications; support in the commercial exploitation of RTD results; innovation consulting; cluster promotion and networking; sharing and purchase of infrastructure; support to the creation of spin- offs and spin-outs.

The Cluster Facilitator, Technopolis will be supported in the development of infrastructure; promotion and networking; strategy development and training. The long term vision is to establish this cluster as a world class centre of excellence for Cloud Computing Services. The Cluster ensures the conceptual integrity and the industry-academia synchronization to transform this excellence into tangible results. The cloud computing vision denotes several structural changes in the way of doing business. Cluster member synergies- along the thematic areas or cross functional- are highly anticipated as a favorable result of the process.
